Rev. Michael L. McGuire, Pastor
Rev. Michael L. McGuire was appointed to First Church by Bishop Scott Jones during the 2006 Kansas West Annual Conference.
Mike was ordained Deacon in 1973 and Elder in 1978 and began as chaplain at Kansas Wesleyan. He has served congregations in Canton-Galva, Wichita-College Hill (associate), Winfield-Grace, El Dorado-First (associate), Garden City (associate), Wichita-Bethany, and Scott City. Mike has also served on the Board of Ordained Ministry, Board of Global Ministries, Conference Commission on Youth Ministries, the Conference Camping Commission, and the Hispanic Ministries Task Force. He is also active in Disciple Bible Study, Emmaus Community, and VIM Mission Trips, including a mission to Honduras in February 2006.
Mike married his wife, Sara, in a Christmas Eve ceremony in El Dorado while serving as our associate pastor. They are parents to Angela (married to Jay), Bret (Jennifer), Mary, Joe (Katelin), Tony, Stephen, and Melissa. They are proud grandparents to Miles, Abby, Annie, Paxon, Evan, Adaira, Quinn, Cameron and Karsyn.
